By creating an account and using GigMiles, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the service.

2. Description of Service

GigMiles is a recordkeeping tool that helps you track business mileage, income, expenses, and related financial data for your music or freelance business. We provide tools to organize and export your records. This includes an optional GPS location tracking feature ("Live Tracking") that, when enabled by you, records your device's location during a trip to calculate distance and render your route on a map.

3. No Tax, Legal, or Financial Advice

IMPORTANT: GigMiles does NOT provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. All calculations, summaries, and reports are estimates only. We do not guarantee accuracy or suitability for any tax filing purpose.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your data and how it is used. Consult a qualified CPA or tax professional before filing taxes or making financial decisions based on data in GigMiles.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Maintain accurate records and verify all data you enter
• Keep your account credentials secure
• Not use the service for illegal purposes
• Not attempt to access other users' data
• Comply with all applicable tax and business record laws
• Comply with all applicable laws regarding mobile device use while driving, including hands-free and distracted-driving laws
• Not interact with the app or your device while operating a vehicle

5. Location Tracking

GigMiles offers an optional GPS location tracking feature ("Live Tracking"). When you enable Live Tracking, the app collects real-time location data from your device during a trip to calculate distance and render your route on a map.

• Opt-In Only: Live Tracking is enabled only when you actively start it. The app does not track your location in the background or when the feature is not in use.
• Data Collected: GPS coordinates, route path (polyline), start and end points, and the calculated distance.
• Accuracy Not Guaranteed: GPS accuracy depends on your device and signal conditions. Tracked distance may differ from actual driven distance and is not guaranteed to be accepted by tax authorities.
• Safety Responsibility: You must not interact with the app or your device while driving. Start Live Tracking before you begin driving or while safely parked.
• Permission: You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to track your own location and that doing so complies with applicable laws.

6. Data Ownership and Export

You own your data. You can export your complete records at any time via the Settings page. We store your data securely but recommend maintaining your own backups.

7. Service "As-Is"

GigMiles is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific needs.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GigMiles and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Tax penalties or audits
• Lost profits or business opportunities
• Data loss or corruption
• Errors in calculations or reporting
• Inaccuracies in GPS-tracked distance or route data

9. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you and may require you to accept the updated Terms to continue using the service.
